This cable tester cannot be used to test any electrified product. It utilizes either a 9V or AAA battery, which should be replaced if the indicator light appears weak. Before testing, ensure that the RJ45 copper connectors are firmly pressed. Failure to comply may result in permanent damage to the cable ends. It is advised to use quality tools when pressing the cables. Telephone cables that are not 6P6C in configuration cannot be tested with this device. Disregarding these instructions may also lead to permanent damage to the cable ends.
The tester offers the following functions: 1. It can test and identify the wiring of twisted cables, including conductors 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and the ground, and can detect any wrong connections, short circuits, or open circuits. 2. For testing of double-twisted cables, the user can switch the power on (S for slow automatic, M for manual). Inserting the cables into both the main tester and remote test unit will result in the main tester's lights illuminating sequentially from 1 to G, and the remote tester displaying the same sequence for RJ45 (1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G) and RJ12 (1-2-3-4-5-6) and RJ11 (2-3-3).
Abnormal connections are identified as follows: 1. If a cable, such as No. 3, is open-circuited, the corresponding lights on both the main and remote testers will not illuminate. 2. If multiple cables are not connected, their respective lights will not turn on. If fewer than two cables are connected, none of the lights will be on. 3. If the cable ends are miswired, for example, with No. 2 and No. 4 swapped, the main and remote testers will display the correct sequence, but the wire pairings will be incorrect. 4. If two cables are short-circuited, the corresponding lights on the remote tester will not illuminate, while the main tester will remain unchanged. If three or more cables are short-circuited, none of the corresponding lights will turn on. 5. When testing patch panels or wall outlets, two matching cables (e.g., 110P4 and RJ45) should be connected to the tester.
This 100% new network tester features LED lights and a micro-power supply interface. It allows users to maintain a smooth network operation by identifying issues such as shorts, open wires, and crossed pairs in their Ethernet patch cables, before connecting them to their devices. The tester can be used to examine RJ45 Ethernet cables, RJ11 telephone cables, and other network cables.
The easy-to-read LED display indicates any problems found. The device is handheld for portability. It requires a 9-volt battery (not included), which should be replaced if the indicator light appears weak. Alternatively, the tester can be powered through the micro-port.
